dL #309: Movies

So it's been ages since I uploaded my journal, but then again, nothing has happened much the past few weeks. But anyway, for the past few weeks I've been watching some really old movies. Movies that are just so rich in emotions they make me cry. Just finished watching Jerry Maguire. Really good show. And Wicker Park.. Oh my goodness Wicker Park. And Just Like Heaven. What happened to movies like these? Movies about friendship, and love. Seriously, where have all these movies go to? Despite the fact they're old, and barely use any state of the art technology, they can touch my heart a whole lot better than what's showing on the screens today. Nowadays it's all about the explosion, explosion and more explosion. or manly taglines like "I R BEOWULF DURHUR I FIGHT NEKKID" or "Look guys we can maek our 3d peeple look ultra reel durhur"

Or maybe under the "macho", monster/robot drawing guy I am, I'm just a sucker for chick flicks. Maybe.

I wud definitely rather watch a classic action like the fugitive, or comedy like the man with two brains then have to lose 2 hours of my life to Are We Done Yet

So true. I love explosions though. A lot of people do. I don't mid slower paced movies though. They're cool :D

Nice! Have you seen any of the classic romantic comedies like When Harry met Sally or Sleepless in Seattle? Good stuff.
And DON'T watch Must Love Dogs. Rarghgh, horrible.

Eg... chick flicks... I like comedies... but they need meat to them. If you need romance I recommend:

The Mask (Just the mask, it stars Jim Carry and is brilliant looking along with a solid cast and memorable musical numbers, plus it's funny)

Stranger than Fiction (Simply brilliant writing with a love story that's not obnoxious)

Shaun of the Dead (perfectly stupendous... it seriously almost made me cry, but I still found my self laugh)

The Corpse Bride (Tim Burton's romantic masterpiece)

Edward Scissorhands (A sweet fairy tale)

Stardust (One of the only romances I don't feel the need to go into convulsions

Well there you go... I'll shut up now...
